John Louis, MD, FACS

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Dr. John Louis was born and raised in Fort Worth Texas with his parents and two brothers.  He attended Texas A&M University where he studied architecture and pre-med Studies receiving a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1992.  He graduated Cum Laude.  He worked throughout all of his college years for a civil engineering company as a draftsman and subsequently performing land surveying and topographic flood studies.  After graduation, he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas where he worked in graphic design for the School of Allied Heath and received many awards including The Eben J. Carey award for Anatomy.  During his time in medical school he illustrated a textbook for the Physician’s Assistant program. He then completed a full 5 year General Surgery residency at The Carillon Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Virginia and went on the complete a two year residency in Plastic Surgery at The Medical College of Georgia.  

Dr. Louis combines his diverse education background and work experience to develop customized treatment options for each and every patient based on their desires, needs and goals.  Practice experience includes extensive work in reconstruction of post cancer excision defects, reconstructive breast surgery following mastectomies for cancer and other breast, abdomen and chest related issues as well as limb salvage.  Aesthetic interests include breast reductions and mastopexies (breast lift), abdominal and head/neck procedures with focus on integration of traditional surgical techniques with newer non-invasive technologies to provide personalized solutions.

When not at work, Dr. Louis spends time with his family and their plott walking hound Reba.  He likes to travel and study history, archeology, gardening and art.
